About
I began my career in nursing, working for the NHS for ten years. When my children were young, I returned to education and completed my Bachelor of Science degree at Loughborough University. This rewarding experience led me to pursue a Science Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Loughborough, which I completed in 2000. I then gained Qualified Teacher Status at Brockington College and subsequently taught and advanced my career at three additional colleges. I feel privileged to have supported students with diverse needs and am passionate about education, having witnessed the positive impact of academic achievement on individuals.
Throughout my career, I have completed qualifications in educational leadership. As an Assistant Principal, I was responsible for developing teaching and learning within my college and across Leicestershire. My experience in coaching and mentoring continues to support those I work with. I have both professional and personal interests in Special Educational Needs and have led Access and Intervention strategies. In January 2017, I left Ratcliffe College to pursue my long-term goal of building a science education business and making a positive difference.
Today, I am delighted to deliver the science curriculum to a wide range of students with specific and complex needs, including those who are home-schooled, have medical needs, or require exam-grade support. I work with Leicestershire Education Authority and with individual parents and children who live all over the world.
