About

I started my career in nursing and worked for the NHS for ten years. When my children were young I decided to return to education. I completed my degree at Loughborough University. This was a wonderful experience so I  was delighted to continue at Loughborough to read a Science Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I completed this in 2000 and went on to gain Qualified Teacher Status at Brockington College. I went on to teach and achieve promotion at three further colleges. I feel privileged to have worked alongside many students with a wide range of needs; I am passionate about education and have seen the positive impact  that academic attainment has on individuals.
During my career I have completed qualifications in educational leadership, and as an Assistant Principal I was responsible for the development of teaching & learning within my own college and across colleges in Leicestershire. My experience of leading coaching and mentoring is a useful asset which I continue to use when supporting the people that I meet. I have a professional, and personal interest in Special Educational Needs, and have leadership experience in Access and Intervention strategies. In January 2017, I will said goodbye to my friends, colleagues and students at Ratcliffe College to follow a long term aspiration - to build a science education business and to make a difference where I can.

Today, I am delighted to be able to deliver the science curriculum to a wide range of students with specific and complex needs; they may be home-schooled, with medical needs, or just require exam grade support. I work with Leicestershire Education Authority and with individual parents and children that live all over the world.
